A demo is easy. A tool someone opens on a Tuesday morning, to finish a real piece of work, on a deadline, is hard. I am only interested in the second one.

In practice that means shipping small, using every tool myself daily, and removing the parts nobody reaches for. Things get cut here about as often as they get added. If a feature exists mainly to look good in a screenshot, it does not survive.

Being one person is the constraint that makes this work. There is nobody to hand a half-finished idea to, so it either earns its place or it goes.

Work you depend on should not stop when a company changes its pricing, its terms, or its mind. Local-first is the practical form of that: the tool runs on hardware you own, on files you can still open with something else in ten years.

So there are no accounts and no telemetry. Nothing is sent to Origami Labs — not your files, not your prompts, not a count of how often you open the app. The privacy page sets out exactly what leaves your machine, and when, for each product.
